Lapsit Storytime Fall 2015 – Animal Sounds 9/17/2015

Welcome everyone! This is our first Lapsit Storytime for the fall session! This week your baby will learn about “Animal Sounds.

~ We will start our storytime singing “Hello“.

Hello  (Opening Song)

Hello, Hello, Hello and how are you?
I’m fine. I’m fine,
And I hope that you are too!

~ After our opening song we will do the fingerplay “Baby’s Game

Baby’s Game (Opening Fingerplay)

Touch your ears, pat your nose,
Tickle baby’s little toes.
Hide your eyes, where are you?
Baby’s playing Peek-A-Boo!

We will repeat them every week, babies love repetition because it helps them to learn and because it’s familiar and comforting.

Milk the Cow the tune is the same as Row,Row, Row Your Boat. (Children can be lying on their backs for this song).

Milk,milk, milk the cow, (“milk” child’s arms, legs, or hands with gentle strokes)

Milking’s what we do.

And when the milking is all done,

The cow says, “Moooooo!” (Tickle child’s stomach)

“Light massage stimulate your baby’s circulatory system and enhances bonding.”

 

-Ducky Tickle (Use a rubber duck or pom-pom to act out the rhyme.)

Quack, quack, quack,

The duck’s on your back.

She climbs to your head,

And jumps to your lap.

Flap, flap, flap,

Down your legs she taps.

She waddles to your toes,

And back to your lap.

Skip, skip, skip,

Our ducky does flips.

She gives you a big kiss,

Right on your lips.
