Book – Lola at the Library – by Anna McQuinn – Every Tuesday Lola and her mother visit their local library to return and check out books, attend story time, and share a special treat.

Song: “Read, Read, Read a Book” (Tune: Row, Row, Row Your Boat)
Read, read, read a book,
Travel anywhere,
Worldwide, you decide,
A book will take you there.
Read, read, read a book,
Beginning to the end,
What a way to spend the day,
A book’s a special friend!

Book – The Midnight Library – Kazuno Kohara – There is a little library that only opens at night. In the library there is a little librarian–and her three assistant owls–who helps everyone find the perfect book. The library is always peaceful and quiet . . . until one night when some of the animals stir up a little trouble (and a little fun!) in the Midnight Library.

Flannelboard – “Five Little Books”
Five little books at the library
Five little books as great as can be
Along comes (name) with their library card
To take one home and read

If you’re a reader and you know it, clap your hands

Closing song – Shout and Whisper – Hap Palmer

Shout and whisper just like me
Shout and whisper one, two, three
Shout! One, Two, Three
Whisper! One, Two Three

Shout and whisper, that’s what we do
Shout and whisper I love you
Shout! I Love You
Whisper! I Love You

Shout and whisper, that’s our game
Shout and whisper what’s your name
(Children say their own names)
Shout <Child’s Name>
Whisper <Child’s Name
