Fall is my favorite season! I love the beautiful leaves, the crunchy apples and the cool nights! So of course we will do some fall stories this week!
I have lots pinned over on my Pintrest page – fall crafts, activities and fun! Be sure to check it out. There are several different “sensory” activities pinned. Fall is a great time of year to spend a little extra time making sure each of our senses gets to experience something new! TOUCH a bumpy pine cone, LOOK at the colorful leaves, SMELL pumpkin bread baking in the oven, TASTE different varieties of apples, and LISTEN to the geese honking as they fly overhead. Be sure to share these experiences with your toddler, taking time to explain what they are experiencing. Remember – they haven’t had many Falls! This may be new to them!
This is also a great time to let you know about our “holiday” books. Most of our books about actual holidays (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas etc) are kept in storage until 6 weeks prior to the holiday. Then we bring them out and shelve them in one convenient location for you. If you haven’t checked out our holiday books yet, be sure to ask a library staff member where you can find them!
