Welcome to Lapsit Storytime! – Fall 2014

Welcome to our fall session of Lapsit storytime!

I am thrilled to have you and your child enrolled in my “baby storytime” class.  Lapsit storytime is for the youngest library users – children from birth-23 months – and their parent/caregiver.  Together, we will be working on early literacy skills, socialization, positive parenting, and fun ways to help your little one grow into a healthy, active, and engaged toddler.

A few tips to help you make the most of the storytime experience:

  • Arrive on time – we start storytime promptly at 9:30 AM.  The program is kept short (to match baby’s attention span), so you will miss out on the fun if you arrive late!
  • Join in – Lapsit is designed to be a program for both the child AND an adult caregiver.  Your baby will benefit most when you participate.  Sing, bounce, and dance along with us.
  • Move about – Babies love to explore, so feel free to move about the story area during the program.  There is no expectation for babies to remain seated and silent during the program!
  • Take time out – If your baby becomes too restless, feel free to step out of the story area for a few minutes.  Rejoin when you can.

Each week, we will start and end storytime with the same rhymes and songs.
