Welcome back to storytime!
Our theme this week is COLORS. This is a basic preschool concept, so I try to do a colors storytime in the fall and in the spring, plus we review our colors during other storytime weeks as well. But colors are an important concept, so be sure you are talking about colors to your baby during your daily routine!
This week’s books:
Baby’s Colors (Nanette McMillian)
Baby Parade – Rebecca O’Connell
Baa Baa Black Sheep (Nursery Rhyme)
Baa baa black sheep,
have you any wool?
Yes, sir. Yes, sir.
Three bags full.
One for my master,
One for the dame,
and one for the little boy
who lives down the lane.
The Old Grey Mare (Bounce Rhyme)
to the tune of Row, Row, Row Your Boat
Clip clip clipety clop.
Clipety clipety clop.
The old grey mare goes up and down
Until it’s time to stop.
Two Little Bluebirds (I use the rhyme A LOT – it only requires two little fingers and can teach so many concepts)
Two little bluebirds, sitting on the hill.
One named Jack, the other named Jill.
Fly away Jack, Fly away Jill.
Come back Jack, Come back Jill.
Colors week is a great time for us to get out the scarves and play!
