Happy New Year! Welcome to back to storytime! Getting back into our normal routine is very welcome after a hectic holiday season!
This week, we are welcoming winter. Our books are:
Hello, Snow! (Wendy Cheyette Lewison) – This rhyming book has bright, vivid illustrations. It perfectly embodies the wonderment of a first snowfall from the eyes of a child.
Mouse’s First Snow (Lauren Thompson) – Mouse is an old friend of ours at storytime, and for good reason. The illustrations are so charming, and Mouse’s interactions with his family are so pleasant. Mouse helps introduce the seasons and seasonal activities in a simple, toddler-friendly way.
Action Rhyme – Walking in the Snow
Let’s go walking in the snow,
walking, walking on tiptoe.
Life your one foot way up high.
Then the other to keep it dry.
All around the yard we skip.
Watch your step, or you may slip!
We are shaking the maracas together this week too! Our maraca song helps us reinforce opposites, which is a lot of fun for our toddlers!
