Family Storytime – Wednesday, September 18, 2013 – Animal Sounds

Welcome to our Family Storytime!  I am so pleased to be able to offer a story program that is available for multiple ages and stages!  This program is open to all members of your family, and no registration is required (so feel free to bring a friend too!).

We will start our storytime with the same song each week.  It is to the tune of If You’re Happy and You Know It, so most people should be familiar with it.

If You’re Ready for a Story

If you’re ready for a story take a seat!
If you’re ready for a story take a seat!
Clap your hands and stomp your feet!
Make your hands all nice and neat.
If you’re ready for a story take a seat!

Each week will feature a different theme.  This week we are learning about animal sounds, and I hope that we can make plenty of noise pretending to be different animals!

We will be reading these books:

We will be shaking our shakers to a great Laurie Berkner song, I Know A Chicken.  If you aren’t familiar with Laurie Berkner’s music, borrow one of her CDs from the library!  Her music makes both children and parents want to sing and dance!

We will end storytime with the same song each week, so that the children know that storytime is ending.  We sing this to the tune of The Farmer in the Dell.

We Wave Goodbye Like This

We wave goodbye like this,
We wave goodbye like this,
We clap out hands for all our friends,
We wave goodbye like this.

Thanks so much for coming to our family storytime.  I look forward to seeing you again next week!
